Design and implementation of global procure to pay process for a major food and beverage company
Challenge: Company operations on six continents were decentralized and operating on over 50 different ERP systems or releases. Procurement and AP reported directly to divisions with minimal central coordination. Master data, processes and approach to talent development were diverse.
Solution: Working closely with the CPO, CIO, CFO, business units, and third party consultancies, current state processes were evaluated and compared against industry best practices.
Optimized global process was developed and integrated with other business processes, and used to configure a global SAP based model. Business case savings of $25 MM
Functional capabilities assessment program was developed and implemented and education and training was established.
Global master data and AP service centers were implemented and service level agreements were established.
Center led/regionally managed procurement organization was established.
Double digit savings achieved in indirect categories and 3-5% savings in direct categories.
Organizational savings in procurement and AP exceeded 8%.
